|  As you've probably figured out by now, my name is Javin and this is my photography site.
I've been an avid outdoors enthusiast for my entire life, but didn't discover photography until 2001 with the purchase of my first SLR film camera, the Nikon N80. Every backpacking or hiking trip I took from then on was more focused on capturing photos of beautiful places. I now have several lenses and a Nikon D200, and shoot 100% digital with the D200.
If I had it my way, I'd spend five days a week in the great outdoors, exploring wild places in search of the perfect photograph. But considering the price of everything these days, I won't be quitting my day job for a while.
My favorite trips are the off-trail bushwhacks in the Olympics to places few people ever see. Everything in the natural world is in constant flux, and it's interesting to see the changes that take place to the landscape over time. My only hope is that places like our National Parks are left untouched forever.
