| | | | | A couple of friends were drifting the Clearwater River fishing for steelhead and had extra room, so I went along for the ride. The Clearwater is a bigger river than I'd realized. Most of the way, it was deep and slow, but there were a few rapids to negotiate. Very little old growth forest remains in the Clearwater drainage. There are several large clearcuts in the area from the past 5 years, some of which were cut very close to the river. It didn't seem like they left much of a "buffer" in a few places.
