| | Wahpenayo Peak is located in the Tatoosh Range just south of Mt. Rainier. The Tatoosh Range includes Pinnacle, Pyramid, Chutla, Eagle and a few other peaks. On this particular day, eleven of us from the Tacoma Mountaineers were attempting a winter scramble to the summit. We approached via the Eagle Peak trail, and nearly made it, but turned back due to some nasty cornices and less than ideal snow conditions.
